12 14 521 Replacing Crankshaft Pulse Generator (S85)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Read out fault memory of DME control unit; if necessary, work through test schedules
Switch off ignition
If necessary, remove underbody protection.

Installation location:

On transmission housing at bottom right.

Unlock plug (1) and remove.

Release screw.

Withdraw pulse generator (2) from transmission housing.

Installation:

Replace sealing ring.

Replace screw.

Installation:

Now clear the fault memory.
