Programming a Replacement Transmission, Mechatronic, or VB-TEHCM

INFORMATION

Whenever a repair to any ZF or GM 6-speed transmission requires a transmission, Mechatronic, or VB-TEHCM replacement, the repair must always be authorized by the appropriate technical consultant, as outlined in SI B24 09 00 .

Prior to beginning the authorized repair, it is recommended that the current EGS identification pages be printed out with the basic and programmed number software information before the part is removed from the vehicle.

This information may be required to program the replacement part if Progman prompts for the manual entry of the programmed and basic numbers. In some cases, the ZF or GM technical consultant may provide different numbers in the PuMA case for manual entry, to ensure that the recommended software is installed.
