To provide the "sporty" power, the E85 is equipped with either the M54B25 or M54B30 engine. The M54 engine is adapted for use in the E85 and the changes include:

• Engine peripherals:
  • Cooling system
  • Exhaust system
  • Secondary air system
  • Fresh air system
  • Ancillary components and belt drive
• MS45 Engine Management System
• Fuel system
