AFS Programming
SITUATION
Active Front Steering (AFS) control module cannot be programmed.
CAUSE
There can be a communication error between the two processors in the AFS control module. The following factors may also cause programming failures:
- Programming interruption (tester is switched off during the programming process).
- Low vehicle voltage (vehicle is not connected to the charger during programming).
- Swapped control module (two different VIN numbers may be read).
CORRECTION
If the programming is interrupted or freezes while the AFS is being programmed, perform battery reset for 5 minutes. Then, subsequent programming can be initiated. AFS control module communication and programming have been optimized in 09/05.
