Single Joint Spring Strut Axle: Notes
The single-joint spring strut axle is used on E30, E36 (all incl Z3 and 318ti) and E85 models. The axle beam is bolted to the body through four locating bushings. It supports the engine mounts, steering rack, anti-roll bar and lower control arm mount.
The "C" shape lower control arm is additionally mounted through a rubber bushing to the body and serves as the lower pivot for the steering system.
