S62 Engine Tools

SITUATION

Distribution of the following tools will be through the Automatic Tool Shipment Program. Additional tools may be purchased through your PDC.

TOOL INFORMATION

Holding Lever P/N 90 88 6 110 270

Used to R & R the vibration dampener central bolts. Refer to repair manual section 11 23 010.

Securing Pins P/N 90 88 6 117 120

Used to secure the camshaft in position when adjusting the valve timing. Refer to repair manual section 11 31 505.

VANOS Charge Adapter P/N 90 88 6 117 130

Screws into the VANOS unit for R & R. Works with compressed air. Refer to repair manual section 11 36 030.

Locking Clips P/N 90 88 6 117 140

Used to lock the secondary chain tensioner during R & R of the camshafts. Refer to repair manual section 11 31 011.

VANOS Spanner P/N 90 88 6 117 150

Used to Adjust The Splined Hub Of The VANOS Gearbox to R & R the camshafts. Refer to repair manual section 11 31 011.

Throttle Valve Synchronizer P/N 90 88 6 130 150

Attaches to the throttle body to synchronize the cylinder banks. Refer to repair manual section 13 54 010.

Thrust Plate P/N 90 88 6 112 386

Placed on the crankshaft in conjunction with 90 88 6 112 380 (04 22 92 (3638) ) to remove the radial oil seal from the lower timing case cover. Refer to repair manual section 11 14 141.

Protective Seal Aligner P/N 90 88 6 117 231

Used to install the radial oil shaft seal on the lower timing case cover without damage. Refer to repair manual section 11 14 141.

Seal Press P/N 90 88 6 117 210

Used to pull-in the radial oil seal for the lower timing case cover. Hand tighten bolts (1).

Screw spindle in by hand.

Pull seal flush with 117 213 and 117 214 (included with 90 88 6 117 210). Refer to repair manual section 11 14 141.

Piston Ring Pliers P/N 90 88 6 117 180

Used to insert the piston into the cylinder. Refer to repair manual section 11 25 530.

Engine Hoist Frame P/N 90 88 6 110 260

Used with an engine hoist to R & R the engine. Refer to repair manual section 11 00 050.

Pressure Testing Plates P/N 90 88 6 111 490

1. 1 & 3 - Sealing plates for cylinder head 1-4
2. 2 & 4 - Sealing plates for cylinder head 5-8.
3. 5 - Securing bolts M6 X 20 (Qt 9)

Used in conjunction with 111 471 and 111 477 (90 88 6 111 470 04 22 92 (3638) ) to seal head openings for pressure testing. Refer to repair manual section 11 12 729.
