Design and Function

The MS S52 engine control system incorporates two separate, equivalent processors. However, the functions of the two processors are different. The functions of the first processor include:

• Load Acquisition Control
• Electronic Throttle Control (EDR)
• Idle Actuator Control
• Ignition And Knock Control

The functions of the second processor include:

• Fuel Injection Control
• Engine Speed Limitation
• Misfire Detection
• OBD II Control
• DTML Control (Leak Diagnosis)
