61 35 175 Removing and installing/replacing rain sensor

Up To 09/2001: 

Version with rain sensor.

Necessary Preliminary Tasks: 

Press sides of cover down, slide upwards slightly and lift out.

Installation: 

Align cover with black glass ceramics by pushing from side to side.

Unclip cable finisher.

Disconnect connector.

Pull out retaining clips in each case in direction of arrow and remove.

Remove rain sensor.

Installation: 

Do not damage optical element below rain sensor.

If necessary, initialize rain sensor. Refer to 61 35 680 INITIALIZING RAIN SENSOR  .

From 09/2001: 

Version with rain/light sensor.

Expand two-part mirror base cover (1) by pressing from below and detach.

Feed out two-part mirror base cover (1) and remove.

Disconnect plug connection (3).

Press locks (1) in direction of arrow and remove rain/light sensor (2) towards bottom.

Installation: 

Do not damage optical element below rain/light sensor (2).

If necessary, initialize rain/light sensor.61 35 680 INITIALIZING RAIN SENSOR  .
