SITUATION

A customer complaint pertaining to the following may be encountered:

Transmission hangs in gear at times. FC 22 is stored in AGS fault memory.
Transmission downshifts for no apparent reason at times. FC22 is stored in AGS fault memory.

CAUSE

The root cause of this situation is still under investigation.

CORRECTION

Clean the engine harness connector at the transmission and the transmission electrical connector with electrical contact cleaner. See Fig 1 . Allow the cleaner to dry completely before reconnecting.

PROCEDURE

Report all cases to BMW Quality & Service Engineering via "Pink Sheet", attach the DIS Diagnosis report with test/hex code printouts. If further assistance is required contact the technical hotline at 1-800-472-7222 to get in contact with a ZF Technical Specialist.
