New DIS Test Cables

SITUATION

Distribution of the following cables will be through the Automatic Tool Shipment Program. Additional tools may be purchased through your PDC.

Pressure Sensor Cable

25 Bar Pressure sensor cable used with oil pressure adapter 90 88 6 117 330 (04 04 96 ) and fuel pressure adapter 90 88 6 135 220 (04 04 96 ). Both of the above pressure adapters are to be used in conjunction with adapter set 90 88 6 136 050 (refer to next tool). There are 2 ports on the DIS rear terminal board where the 25 bar cable can be attached. Refer to Fig 2 for the hook up silhouette. The cable is included in the self test function in the "Administration" screen.

NOTE: This sensor always reads absolute pressure. To determine the relative pressure subtract 1 bar from the final reading.

To enable proper hook up of pressure sensor cable adapters as mentioned above.

DC Circuit Breaker Cable

Used to stimulate relays and lamps for testing. The DC circuit breaker cable is capable of stimulating loads up to 10 amps (DC) with protection against incorrect polarity and short circuits. Refer to the Fig 4 for the attachment location on the DIS rear terminal board. The stimulation parameters are adjustable in the "Test System Stimulation Devices" screen. After the parameters have been set, select the "ON " button under "Power Switch". You may then stimulate the device by selecting "Stimulate" or switch to "multimeter" and stimulate the device there.

NOTE: In order to stimulate a device from the multimeter screen you must first power on the stimulator in the "Test System Stimulation Devices" screen as described above. If the Circuit Breaker cable is overloaded the "Power Switch" in the "Test System Stimulation Devices" screen will automatically power "Off".

Digital Input Cable

Adapter pins.
Couplings- 6 black, 6 red.
Connector for the DIS rear terminal board. Refer to Fig 5 for correct connection point.

The Digital Input cable is a 12 channel signal measurement cable used to measure signal curves such as the fuel injector Ti signal. For correct hook up select:

"Help for preset measurements" in the preset measurement test. The DI cable is used in conjunction with the 88 Pin Break Out Box (P/N 88 88 6 614 410).
