1. Bolt
   • Always replace after removing
   • Clean the threaded hole, for example, using a thread tap, before installing the new bolt.
   • Install the bolt first by hand in the first threads. Check if the steering intermediate shaft is seated correctly by pulling. Then tighten the bolt.
   • 20 Nm +90°
2. Steering Intermediate Shaft
   • Removing and Installing. Refer to STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
3. Steering Column
   • Removing and Installing. Refer to STEERING COLUMN, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
   • Check for damage. Refer to STEERING COLUMN, CHECKING FOR DAMAGE .
4. Crossmember
   • For the instrument panel
5. Bolt
   • 4.5 Nm
6. Electronic Steering Column Lock Control Module -J764-
   • Removing and Installing. Refer to Electronic Steering Column Lock Control Module -J764-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
7. Bolt
   • Quantity: 4
   • Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Fig 2.
8. Bolt
   • Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Fig 3.
9. Active Steering Safety Lock Actuator -F437-
   • Removing and Installing. Refer to ACTIVE STEERING SAFETY LOCK (LOCKING SOLENOID), REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
10. Power Adjustable Steering Column Control Module -J866-
    • Removing and Installing. Refer to Power Adjustable Steering Column Control Module -J866-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
11. Bolt
    • 1.5 Nm +/- 0.3 Nm
12. Bolt
    • Always replace after removing

    • Install the bolt first by hand in the first threads. Check if the steering intermediate shaft is seated correctly by pulling. Then tighten the bolt.
    • 20 Nm +90°
13. Nut
    • 4.5 Nm

-- Tighten the steering column bolts -arrows- to 20 Nm in a -1 to 4- sequence.
