Steering System, Checking
Requirement:
The direction of movement for the steering system (steering wheel) control must correspond to the intended change in vehicle direction. The steering wheel angle must continually correspond to the steering angle.
"Checking during Periodic Technical Inspection"
Test Method:
Perform a visual inspection to check if the set steering wheel angle and the resulting steering angle at the front wheels are continually corresponding with each other.
Test Conditions:
The vehicle is ready to be driven and the system check is complete.
Test Sequence:
Turn the steering wheel into the straight-ahead position. Then turn it 180° to the left, then 360° to the right, and then back 180° to the left.
OK result:
The resulting steering angle at the front wheels is in line with that of the steering wheel.
