1. Bolt
   • 20 Nm + 90°
   • Replace after removing.
   • Install the bolt first by hand in the first threads. Check if the steering intermediate shaft is seated correctly by pulling. Then tighten the bolt.
   • Clean the threaded hole, for example, using a thread tap, before installing the new bolt.
2. Steering Intermediate Shaft
   • Removing and Installing. Refer to STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
3. Instrument Panel Crossmember
4. Bolt
   • 1.5 Nm
5. Electronic Steering Column Lock Control Module -J764-
   • There are different versions. Refer to the Parts Information.
   • Removing and Installing. Refer to Electronic Steering Column Lock Control Module -J764-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
6. Steering Column
   • There are different versions. Refer to the Parts Information for the allocation.
   • Removing and Installing. Refer to STEERING COLUMN, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
   • Check for damage. Refer to STEERING COLUMN, CHECKING FOR DAMAGE .
7. Anti-Theft Protection Component Lower Section
   • For versions with a manual transmission
8. Bolt
   • Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Fig 2.
   • Quantity: 4
9. Anti-Theft Protection Component Upper Section
   • For versions with a manual transmission
10. Handle
    • for the steering column adjustment
11. Bolt
    • 5 Nm
12. Active Steering Motor -V477-
    • There are different versions. Refer to the Parts Information.
    • Steering column component
    • Do not disconnect or loosen from the steering column
    • Replace the steering column if faulty. Refer to STEERING COLUMN, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
13. Active Steering Safety Lock Actuator -F437-
    • Removing and Installing. Refer to ACTIVE STEERING SAFETY LOCK (LOCKING SOLENOID), REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
14. Bolt
    • Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Fig 3.
15. Damper
    • Do not disconnect or loosen from the steering column
16. Pin
    • Do not disconnect or loosen from the steering column
17. Bolt
    • 20 Nm + 90°
    • Replace after removing.
    • Install the bolt first by hand in the first threads. Check the if the steering intermediate shaft is seated correctly by pulling. Then tighten the bolt.
    • Clean the threaded hole (for example, using a thread tap) before installing the new bolt.
18. Nut
    • 4.5 Nm
