Example Function: Change Radio Station

The driver presses the MODE button on the desired selection menu on the Instrument Cluster Control Module -J285- display.
Every button signal is converted into digital information by the Multifunction Steering Wheel Control Module -J453-. It sends this to the Steering Column Electronics Control Module -J527- via the LIN bus wire.
The Steering Column Electronics Control Module -J527- integrates the "MODE button pressed" information into a CAN comfort message.
The Data Bus on Board Diagnostic Interface -J533- reads the information on the CAN comfort and sends this to the Front Information Display Control Head Control Module -J523- via the MOST bus.
The Front Information Display Control Head Control Module -J523- sends the display graphical data for rendering the next selection menu from the Instrument Cluster Control Module -J285- to the MOST bus each time the "MODE button pressed" signal is received.
The Data Bus on Board Diagnostic Interface -J533- transmits this information to the CAN instrument cluster.
The Instrument Cluster Control Module -J285- reads this information and renders the corresponding selection menu on the display. Procedures 1 through 7 repeat each time the MODE button is pressed, until the instrument cluster display shows the radio station selection menu.
Select the desired radio station by turning the menu selection adjustment wheel. This updates the instrument cluster display each time the knob is operated. Confirm the selection by pressing on the adjustment wheel. The signal transmission from the Multifunction Steering Wheel Control Module -J453- to the Front Information Display Control Head Control Module -J523- as well as to the Instrument Cluster Control Module -J285- occurs as previously described.
The Front Information Display Control Head Control Module -J523- plays the selected radio station.
