Component Designations

Component Abbreviation in Guided Fault Finding K- Repair Group Number Diagnosis Address Notes
Engine Control Module 1 -J623- ECM1 K01 01 - engine electronics
  • Engine control module 1 is active in the immobilizer and must be adapted if it is replaced.
  • Communication takes place via the data bus drive.
Comfort System Central Control Module -J393- ICM K05 05 - access/start authorization
  • Body control module 2 contains diagnosis addresses 05 - access/start authorization and 46 - Comfort System central module. Therefore there are both K-repair group numbers K05 and K46.
  • The immobilizer and component protection are included in address 05 - access/start authorization and must be adapted if body control module 2 is replaced.
  • Communication takes place via the data bus-Comfort.

Access/Start Authorization Switch -E415- Ignition Lock --
  • The ignition lock is electronic, which is connected to body control module 2 via a LIN-bus.
  • The ignition lock must be adapted if it is replaced because it transmits the immobilizer information from the key.
Electronic Steering Column Lock Control Module -J764- ESL KG1 05 - access/start authorization
  • The electronic steering column lock is connected to body control module 2 with the same LIN-bus as the ignition lock and does not have its own diagnosis address. It must be adapted to the immobilizer if it is replaced.
  • The diagnosis is performed by address 05 - access/start authorization.
  • The electronic steering column lock can be replaced separately without having to remove the steering column.
Engine Control Module 2 -J624- ECM2 K11 11 - engine electronics II
  • Engine control module 2 is active in the immobilizer and must be adapted if it is replaced.
  • Engine control module 2 is installed as an option and is dependant on the engine code.
  • Communication takes place via the data bus drive.
Transmission Control Module -J217- TCM K02 02 - transmission electronics
  • The transmission control module is active in the immobilizer and must be adapted if it is replaced.
  • The transmission control module is installed as an option.
  • Communication takes place via the data bus drive.
Data Bus On Board Diagnostic Interface -J533- Gateway K19 19 - diagnosis interface for the Data bus
  • The gateway is passive in the immobilizer and does not need to be adapted if it replaced.
  • The gateway serves as a router from the data bus-Comfort to the data bus-drive.
Key -KD5708- Wrench --
  • The vehicle keys are active in the immobilizer and must be adapted if they are replaced.
  • Up to 8 keys can be adapted.
