Diagnostic Overview 

Diagnostics in this article assume a certain skill level and knowledge of Ford-specific diagnostic practices. Refer to Diagnostic Methods in Service Information for information about these practices.

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

The GPSM and PCM communicate through the HS-CAN and MS-CAN, with the BCM acting as a gateway.

DTC Fault Trigger Conditions 

DTC Description Fault Trigger Conditions
U0100:00 Lost Communication with ECM/PCM "A": No Sub Type Information Set by the GPSM when network messages are missing from the PCM for more than 5 seconds with the ignition in RUN.
