A/C Compressor Input Shaft
- 60 Nm
- When the threaded connection is tightened, it sits without play in the engine drive wheel splines.
- Grease the splines to the engine drive wheel with for example Grease: G 000 100 .
- Loosening and tightening. Refer to A/C COMPRESSOR INPUT SHAFT, LOOSENING AND TIGHTENING .
- Removing and Installing. Refer to A/C COMPRESSOR INPUT SHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Bolt
- 10 Nm
Drive Plate
- The overload protection takes over when the torque is excessive (for example, if the A/C compressor runs with resistance) and the drive shaft runs freely without driving the A/C compressor
- Check the run-out. Refer to DRIVE PLATE WITH OVERLOAD PROTECTION, CHECKING RUN-OUT AND ADJUSTING .
- Removing and Installing. Refer to DRIVE PLATE WITH OVERLOAD PROTECTION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Drive Plate
- 30 Nm
- Attached to the A/C compressor input shaft
- The overload protection takes over when the torque is excessive (for example, if the A/C compressor runs with resistance) and the drive shaft runs freely without driving the A/C compressor
- Removing and Installing. Refer to A/C COMPRESSOR DRIVE PLATE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Rubber Element
- Decouples the drive unit and dampens vibrations and noises.
- Install on correct side. Refer to A/C COMPRESSOR DRIVE PLATE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Spacer
- The original spacer must be installed
- Dimension: 17.5 x 10 x 3 mm
Circlip
- Always replace
- Install on the proper side - the flat side faces the A/C compressor
Drive Plate
- With roller bearing
- Removing and Installing. Refer to DRIVE PLATE WITH ANTI-FRICTION BEARING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Clean the A/C compressor flange before installing the drive plate.
A/C Compressor
CAUTION:
May only be removed when the refrigerant circuit is empty; bring the vehicle to a workshop that has the necessary tools and in which the work can be performed by qualified personnel. Refer to REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT .
- There are different versions.
- Refrigerant Line, Disconnecting and Connecting. Refer to REFRIGERANT LINES, DISCONNECTING FROM A/C COMPRESSOR AND CONNECTING, 8-CYLINDER FSI/TFSI ENGINE .
- Removing and Installing. Refer to A/C COMPRESSOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, 8-CYLINDER FSI/TFSI ENGINE .
- Replace the drive unit. Refer to OVERVIEW - A/C COMPRESSOR POWER UNIT, VEHICLES, 8-CYLINDER FSI/TFSI ENGINE .
  NOTE:
  There are different versions depending on the refrigerant (R134a or R1234yf).

- Quantity: 3
  Steel Bolt
- 25 Nm
  Aluminum Bolt
- 8 Nm +180°
- Replace after removing.
