Heater And A/C Unit, Removing And Installing: Installing

Installation is done is reverse order, observe the following:

NOTE:

Before installing, check all gaskets and seals on the A/C unit for damage and replace if necessary.

-- Install the support ring -E- into the grommet -D-.

-- Coat the grommet with lubricant.

-- Insert the A/C system and install the left and right central tube on the mount.

-- Tighten the A/C system to the central tube by hand until it touches.

-- Insert the grommet into the plenum chamber bulkhead.

NOTE:

Check that the evaporator grommet on the plenum chamber bulkhead opening is in the correct position.

Damaged or incorrectly installed grommets will allow water to enter into the passenger compartment.

-- Install the retaining plate -A- onto the refrigerant lines -B and C-.

-- Install the expansion valve. Refer to EXPANSION VALVE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Slide the grommet -3- over the connections -1- for the heater core and insert it into the plenum chamber bulkhead -2-.

NOTE:

Check that the heater core grommet on the plenum chamber bulkhead opening is in the correct position.

Damaged or incorrectly installed grommets will allow water to enter into the passenger compartment.

-- Install the condensation water drain hose. Refer to CONDENSATION WATER DRAIN, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Push the tab -3- in direction of -arrow A- until it stops and then tilt it upward -arrow B-.

-- Tighten the bolt -2-.

-- Install the central tube. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL CENTRAL TUBE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the air intake manifold. Refer to AIR INTAKE MANIFOLD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Connect the wires to the auxiliary heater heating element. Refer to Auxiliary Heater Heating Element -Z35-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the rear air guide channel. Refer to REAR AIR GUIDE CHANNEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the air guide channel for the rear footwall vent. Refer to REAR FOOTWELL VENT AIR GUIDE CHANNEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the air guide instrument panel vent on the front passenger side. Refer to FRONT PASSENGER SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL VENT AIR GUIDE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the tower brace. Refer to TOWER BRACE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Evacuating and recharging refrigerant circuit. Refer to Refrigerant Circuit, Evacuating & Refrigerant Circuit, Charging or Working With A/C Service Station .

After completing the repair work, perform the following operations on the control head using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function:

-- Check the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory and delete any currently displayed entries.

-- Perform the basic setting.

-- Perform output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM).

-- Operate the A/C system after filling the refrigerant circuit. Refer to A/C SYSTEM, STARTING OPERATION AFTER FILLING REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT .

NOTE:

Read the information for starting the A/C system after installing the A/C compressor. Refer to A/C SYSTEM, STARTING OPERATION AFTER FILLING REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT 0.

-- Check the function of the A/C system, and the airflow direction and distribution of the air current coming out of the defroster to the windshield.

-- Check the direction of the air flow depending on the switch position.
