Diagnostic Mode 09 - Read Vehicle Information

Diagnostic Mode 09 provides access to vehicle-specific information from the emission related ECUs. The Mode 09 is divided into info type. The odd info type $01, $03, $. 05, $07 and $09 are not supported by the control devices with Scan tool communication via ISO-CAN. Read Write / Non OBD control devices do not support Mode 09 inquiries about the functional addressing 0x7DF or about 0x70x functional addressing and physical addressing mode 09 inquiries will be answered.

NOTE:

Depending on the scan tool and protocol used, Diagnostic Mode 09 and the information provided may be referred to by a different name.

Test Requirement

No DTCs stored in the DTC memory.

Procedure

-- CONNECT: Scan Tool

-- IGNITION: ON

-- SELECT: Mode 09

-- SELECT: Test ID

-- INFO REQUESTED: will be displayed on the scan tool screen.
