Power Steering Pump Assembly Overview
NOTE:
Always replace seals.
Do not reuse fluid you have drained.
Only use Hydraulic Fluid.
- Bracket
- Sleeve
- Drive the sleeve back slightly to install the power steering pump.
- Bolt
- 20 Nm
- Clamp
- Tension using Hose Clip Pliers VAG1275A
- Always replace if removed
- Intake Hose
- The "P" marking on the evacuation hose -arrow- must align with the formed seam -arrow- on the power steering pump.
- Power Steering Pump Regulator Valve -(V119)-
- The power steering pump and the control valve are one component and can only be replaced together.

- With Power Steering Pump Regulator Valve -(V119)-
- The power steering pump and the control valve are one component and can only be replaced together. Refer to -item 6-.
- Allocate correct version.
- Delivery pressure, checking. Refer to POWER STEERING PUMP DELIVERY PRESSURE, CHECKING, 6-CYLINDER FSI .
- Removing and installing. Refer to POWER STEERING PUMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, 6-CYLINDER FSI, WITH DYNAMIC STEERING .
- Fill with Hydraulic Fluid before installing
- Bleed the steering. Refer to STEERING, BLEEDING AFTER REPLACING .
- Check hydraulic fluid level. Refer to POWER STEERING FLUID LEVEL, CHECKING .
- Steering System, checking for leaks. Refer to STEERING, CHECKING FOR LEAKS .

- Always replace if removed

- Insert the pressure line completely when installing.
- Note the installation position: the angle between the line connection and the power steering pump axle must be approximately 59°.
