Front Backrest, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the front seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Secure the front seat to the : VAS6136  . Refer to FRONT SEAT, MOUNTING ON FIXTURE FOR SEAT REPAIR .

-- Remove the backrest hinge trim on the tunnel side. Refer to BACKREST HINGE TRIM, TUNNEL SIDE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the seat side trim on the side sill side. Refer to SEAT SIDE TRIM ON SIDE SILL SIDE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the backrest hinge trim on the side sill side. Refer to BACKREST HINGE TRIM, SIDE SILL SIDE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Disconnect the wiring harness connectors for the backrest and free up the disconnected wiring harnesses. Refer to MODULAR WIRING ROUTING, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

TIP:

The wiring harness between the connector station and the thorax airbag is continuous.

-- Press the safety catch -arrow A- to disconnect the connector -1-

-- Remove the pneumatic line -2- by lifting the safety catch slightly with a small flat-head screwdriver -arrow B-.

-- Disconnect the pneumatic lines -1- to the seat bolster inflation adjuster on the left and right side of the seat by lifting the safety catch slightly using a small flat-head screwdriver -arrow-

-- Remove the left and right bolts -arrows- from the backrest hinge.

-- Remove the belt guide -1-.

-- Loosen the backrest from the seat and remove it while guiding out the wiring harnesses.
