ABS Control Module -J104- /ABS Hydraulic Unit -N55-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Installing: Notes

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

WARNING:
  • Brake fluid is poisonous. NEVER siphon brake fluid with your mouth!
  • Wash off any brake fluid that comes into contact with the skin with a lot of water.
  • If brake fluid comes in contact with the eyes, wash out the eye(s) and see a doctor.
  • Refer to BRAKE FLUID GENERAL INFORMATION
NOTE:

Do not remove sealing plugs at new hydraulic unit until the corresponding brake line is about to be installed.

If the sealing plugs are removed too early, brake fluid can escape and unit may not be sufficiently filled or adequately bled.

First install all the brake lines into the hydraulic unit and then tighten them.

-- Attach the bracket to the hydraulic unit.

-- Install the hydraulic unit and control module into the bracket in the vehicle.

NOTE:

Moisten the rubber piece in the bracket with water to make it easier to install.

-- Remove the plugs from the new hydraulic unit.

-- Install all the brake lines.

-- Tighten all the brake lines.

-- After securing brake lines to hydraulic unit, perform output diagnostic test mode. Refer to Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

NOTE:

By performing the output check diagnosis, it can be determined if the line connections were interchanged.

-- Remove the :VAG1869/2  .

-- Bleed the brake system. Refer to HYDRAULIC SYSTEM, PRE-BLEEDING .

-- If the ABS Control Module -J104- /ABS Hydraulic Unit -N55- is being replaced, select the "Replace" function for the ABS Control Module -J104- /ABS Hydraulic Unit -N55- on the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester, Guided Functions  .

WARNING:

There is the risk of an accident.

  • Make sure the brakes are working correctly before driving the vehicle.
