Map Controlled Engine Cooling Thermostat -F265-, CHECKING: Function
The thermostat is positioned on the suction side of the coolant pump. The thermostat opening is temperature-activated by a wax element. The opening temperature can also be lowered using a Map Controlled Engine Cooling Thermostat -F265-. Map Controlled Engine Cooling Thermostat -F265- activation is managed through the Engine Control Module -J623- per a characteristic map. The Engine Control Module -J623- uses the input variables of air temperature, engine load, speed, and coolant temperature for its calculation. From these, it calculates the continuously adjustable heating of the expansion element.
