Brake Lamp Switch -F-, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Move the seat all the way back as far as it will go.

-- Turn off the ignition.

-- Remove the storage compartment under the instrument panel on the driver side. Refer to STORAGE COMPARTMENTS AND COVERS .

-- Remove the footwell vent.

-- Disconnect the connector to the Brake Lamp Switch -F -.

-- Push the plunger on the Brake Lamp Switch -F- -B- all the way in.

-- Turn the colored piece on the Brake Lamp Switch -F-, with the plunger still pushed in, all the way to the left -arrow A- to release the sensor.

NOTE: The plunger must remain pushed in while releasing the Brake Lamp Switch -F-.

-- Release the Brake Lamp Switch -F- plunger after the switch has been released.

-- Insert the Release Tool for Brake Light Switch T40168A between the plunger on the Brake Lamp Switch -F- and the brake pedal.

The cone on the tool must face in the direction of the driver seat. The opening on the tool must align with the projection on the Brake Lamp Switch -F-.

-- Press the Release Tool for Brake Light Switch T40168A against the Brake Lamp Switch -F -. The three tabs on the Brake Lamp Switch -F- unlock at the same time.

-- Remove the Brake Lamp Switch -F- from the mount -C-.
