Battery Without Visual Indicator
NOTE:
Do not open acid batteries.
CAUTION:
If the electrolyte level is below the MIN mark, replace the battery. Refer to BATTERY, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Make sure the battery and the terminal clamps are secure. Tighten them if necessary. Refer to BATTERY, CHECKING FOR SECURE FIT .
-- Perform a visual inspection of the battery housing and check for the following:
- Corrosion on or damage to the battery pole
- Damage to the housing
-- Perform a visual inspection of the battery cells to determine the electrolyte level. The electrolyte level must be above the MIN mark.
NOTE:
Using a flashlight during the visual inspection makes it easier to see the MIN and MAX marks.
If it is difficult to read the battery: use a small mirror to see the electrolyte level while holding a flashlight at a right angle.
