Diagnostic Overview 

Diagnostics in this article assume a certain skill level and knowledge of Ford-specific diagnostic practices. Refer to Diagnostic Methods in Service Information for information about these practices.

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

The FCDIM and ACM communicate with the FCIM through the I-CAN.

DTC Fault Trigger Conditions 

DTC Description Fault Trigger Conditions
U0256:00 Lost Communication With Front Controls Interface Module "A": No Sub Type Information Set by the FCDIM and ACM when network messages are missing from the FCIM for more than 5 seconds with the ignition in RUN.
