Input Shaft Adjustment, Air Gap, Checking
Do not let the engine run or tow the vehicle without ATF.
- ATF filled. Refer to ATF, FILLING FOR ATF FLUSH .
-- Drive the vehicle from the hoist.
For vehicles with air suspension, the vehicle lifting mode must be disabled. Refer to VEHICLE LIFT MODE .
- ATF filled
-- Park the vehicle on a level surface.
When the parking brake is released, the vehicle must not foll forward or backward by itself when in the "N" selector lever position.
-- Start the engine.
-- Move the selector lever into "N".
- The parking brake is not engaged.
- Brake pedal not pressed:
-- Press gas pedal.
- The vehicle may not start to roll.
If the Vehicle rolls when in the "N" selector lever position:
-- Set selector lever cable. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE .
If the setting of the selector lever cable is ok, but the vehicle still rolls in the selector lever position "N" :
-- Input shaft, Servicing, refer to INPUT SHAFT ADJUSTMENT, AIR GAP, CHECKING
In this case, the setting of the input shaft was not correctly executed.
If the vehicle does not roll when in the "N" selector lever position:
The setting of the input shaft with the determination of air play is OK.
-- Continue ATF flushing, refer to ATF, FLUSHING
