Navigation System with CD Drive Control Module J401 , removing and installing
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
- Radio removal tool T10057
- Fiber Optic Plier Repair Set VAS 6223
- Protective Cap For Cable Connector VAS 6223/9
- If control module is replaced, select "Replacement" function for appropriate control module in "Guided Fault-Finding" routine.
Use the Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 to do so.
CAUTION:
- Switch off all electrical components.
- Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.
Removing
- Open left luggage compartment storage bin.

- Insert two clips of Radio Removal Tool T10057 into release slots of Navigation System with CD Drive Control Module J401 until they engage. Points on the grip eyelets of tool face outward.
- Pull Navigation System with CD Drive Control Module J401 out of mounting frame.
- Disconnect all connectors at Navigation System with CD Drive Control Module J401.
- Fit the Protective Cap For Cable Connector VAS 6223/9 - 1 - on to the MOST-Bus connector - 2 -.
- Remove Radio Release Tool T10057 by pressing locking tabs on Navigation System with CD Drive Control Module J401.
Removing mounting frame
- Remove nut - 1 - (8 Nm) and bolt - 2 - (8 Nm).
- Remove bolts - arrows - (3 Nm) to separate frame from slide-in slot.
Installing
Mounting frame:
- Install in reverse order.
Control module:
- Connect all harness connectors.
- Slide Navigation System with CD Drive Control Module J401 in until it engages in mounting frame.
