Front Information Display Control Head Control Module J523 , removing and installing
CAUTION:
- This section refers to components of the communication systems available in Europe and not all apply to communication systems used in USA and Canada.
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
- Fiber Optic Plier Repair Set VAS 6223
- Protective Cap For Cable Connector VAS 6223/9
- If control module is replaced, select "Replacement" function for appropriate control module in "Guided Fault-Finding" routine.
Use the Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 to do so.
CAUTION:
- Switch off all electrical components.
- Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.
Removing
- Remove glove compartment → 68 - INTERIOR EQUIPMENT .

- Disconnect all harness connectors - 2 - on Front Information Display Control Head Control Module J523 - 1 -.
- Fit the Protective Cap For Cable Connector VAS 6223/9 - 1 - on to the MOST-Bus connector - 2 -.

- Unscrew bolts - arrows - (4 Nm) and remove Front Information Display Control Head Control Module J523 - 1 -.
Installing
- Install in reverse order.
