Calibration Procedure
-- Set-up requirements, refer to GENERAL INFORMATION .
-- Connect the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
Attach the Calibration Tool - Wheel Center MountingsVAS6350/1:
-- Check the dimension of the holes.
-- Install the Calibration Tool - Wheel Center MountingsVAS6350/1.
-- To do so, secure three Calibration Tool - Wheel Center MountingsVAS6350/1in the hole circle to each wheel pick-up.
-- Attach paddles to both Calibration Tool - Wheel Center MountingsVAS6350/1 and secure them with clamping screw.
-- Place Calibration Tool - Wheel Center MountingsVAS6350/1 on wheel bolts on rear wheels.
The Calibration Tool - Wheel Center MountingsVAS6350/1 are positioned by the "O-rings" in the adapters and held in place.
Mount the Calibration Tool - Wheel Center MountingsVAS6350/1 on the wheel so that if the wheel has "anti-theft" wheel bolts, they do not contact the Calibration Tool - Wheel Center MountingsVAS6350/1.
-- Adjust paddle with aid of clamping screws so that they move freely just above the floor.
-- Calibration ToolVAS6350 Installing and Aligning, refer to Calibration Tool VAS6350, INSTALLING AND ALIGNING .
Distance measurement:
-- Turn on the Calibration Tool - Calibration Tool - Spacing LaserVAS6350/2.
-- Hold the Calibration Tool - Calibration Tool - Spacing LaserVAS6350/2 -2- flush in the bracket on one side of the calibration platform. The Calibration Tool - Calibration Tool - Spacing LaserVAS6350/2 -2- must sit securely on the bracket.
-- Press the measuring button briefly.
The laser turns on.
-- Make sure that laser beam from Calibration Tool - Calibration Tool - Spacing LaserVAS6350/2 -2- hits lower, enlarged part of paddle -1-.
If this is not the case, then the paddle must be corrected accordingly via the screws on the Calibration Tool - Wheel Center MountingsVAS6350/1.
-- With one hand, firmly hold the Calibration Tool - Calibration Tool - Spacing LaserVAS6350/2 in the bracket on the Calibration ToolVAS6350 while the laser beam is visible on the paddle.
-- Press the measuring button briefly for the distance measurement.
-- Note the value read off.
-- Repeat measuring procedure in the same manner for the other rear wheel on the other side of the Calibration ToolVAS6350.
The distance value must be the same on both sides.
If values are not identical:
-- Adjust the Calibration ToolVAS6350 until values on both sides are identical.
When aligning the Calibration ToolVAS6350 make sure the Calibration Tool - Linear LaserVAS6350/3 from theCalibration ToolVAS6350 until it strikes the center of the Audi rings and the indicator of the level remains centered. If necessary, make further corrections.
-- Measure the height of the Calibration ToolVAS6350, dimension -H- (top edge platform - floor).
Enter the height and distance dimensions into the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in "millimeters".
Performing calibration
The Vehicle Diagnostic Tester is attached.
-- Select Guided Fault Finding .
-- Select "vehicle selection" from the menu for the corresponding vehicle data.
-- Using the GO TO button, select the following menu points:
- Select Function/Component Selection
- Body
- Electrical Equipment
- 01 - On Board Diagnostic (OBD) capable systems
- 6C - Rearview Camera system/J772
- 6C - Rearview Camera System Control Module, functions
- 6C - Calibration, (Repair Group 91)
The Vehicle Diagnostic Tester continues with the calibrating procedure from here on.
Make sure light does not reflect off the calibration platform.
Reflections affect the Rearview Camera -R189- and may make it impossible to perform the calibration.
