Power Steering Pump: Notes
Assembly Overview
NOTE:
Always replace seals.
Do not reuse fluid you have drained.
Only use Hydraulic Oil.
- Pressure Hose
- Note the installation position: The angle between the line connection and power steering pump axle is approximately 96°.
- Banjo Bolt
- 50 Nm
- Seal
- Always replace.
- Intake Hose
- The -P- marking on the intake hose must align with the seam on the power steering pump.
- Clamp
- Tension with the hose clamp pliersVAG1275 or locking pliersVAS6199.
- Always replace.
- Power Steering Pump
- Fill with Hydraulic Oil before installation.
- Checking delivery pressure. Refer to POWER STEERING PUMP, CHECKING DELIVERY PRESSURE .
- Removing and installing. Refer to POWER STEERING PUMP .
- Belt Pulley
- Bolt
- Tightening specification. Refer to WHEEL BOLT TIGHTENING SPECIFICATIONS .
- Bolt
- 20 Nm
- Bracket
- Sleeve

When replacing the power steering pump, replace its seal and O-ring
- Power Steering Pump
- There are different versions. Allocation. Refer to the Parts.
- Fill with Hydraulic Oil before installation.
- Checking delivery pressure. Refer to POWER STEERING PUMP, CHECKING DELIVERY PRESSURE .
- Removing and installing. Refer to POWER STEERING PUMP .
- Bracket
- The bracket and the power steering pump are a single unit and cannot be separated from each other.
- Bolt
- 65 Nm
- Transmission/engine/bracket/power steering pump bolt.
- Shaft Seal
- Replacing. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- O-Ring
- Replacing. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Banjo Bolt
- 50 Nm
