Guide Link: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Audi S4, 2004 Audi A4, 2003 Audi A4, and 2002 Audi A4. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Bonded rubber bushings can only be turned to a limited extent. The bolted joints at the suspension links are not to be tightened until the vehicle is standing on the ground.
  1. Install guide link. Install and hand tighten guide link-to-subframe bolt/nut.
  2. Tighten NEW nut at ball joint pin. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Tighten NEW hex bolt (2) to 81 ft. lbs. (110 N.m), plus an additional 90 degree turn. See Fig 1. Tighten hex bolt (3) to 48 ft. lbs. (65 N.m). Fasten brake caliper if necessary. Install wheel and tighten.

  3. Lower vehicle to ground. Final tighten guide link-to-subframe bolt/nut.
