Towing speeds: Notes
Above all - safety first!
WARNING:
- To reduce risk of accident and serious personal injury, never tow any vehicle at a speed in excess of 80 km/h (50 mph) with a conventional tow truck, with or without the use of a self-loading wheel dolly.
- Safe operating speeds always depend on weather, road, traffic, and visibility conditions, as well as the condition of the towed vehicle.
- Never go under the vehicle while it is raised by towing equipment, unless vehicle is adequately supported by safety stands.
- Never allow passengers to ride in a towed vehicle.
- Safety of operator and all others in vicinity of the recovery or towed vehicle must be the primary consideration at all times during a towing operation.
