Test sequence

• Connect vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS5051. See VEHICLE DIAGNOSTIC, TESTING AND INFORMATION SYSTEM VAS5051, CONNECTING AND SELECTING FUNCTIONS  , and select vehicle system "01 -Engine electronics". Engine must be running at idling speed.

Display on VAS5051:

• Under -1- select diagnostic function "08 - Read measured value block".

Display on VAS5051:

1. - Enter display group

• Enter "086" for "display group number 086" in zone -2- and confirm entry by pressing -Q- button.

Display on VAS5051:

• Check indication in display field -1-.

• Specified value: 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0

Note on display zone 1: 

Display zone 1 is the most important. This display indicates which system has been checked by the On Board Diagnostic (OBD) since the last time the DTC memory was erased or since installation of a new control module. After erasing the DTC memory, all testable values are set to "1" and then to "0" after successful completion of the test  .

If the specification "0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0" is achieved in display zone 1:

• Press --> button.

If specified value is not obtained:

• Generate readiness code. See READINESS CODE, GENERATING  .
