ABS/ESP system components at front axle, removing and installing: Notes

The following list pertains to Fig 1 .

1. Drive axle with ABS wheel speed sensor rotor 
   • Check rotor for dirt and damage. See ABS WHEEL SPEED SENSOR ROTOR, CHECKING  .
   • If rotor is damaged, outer constant velocity joint must be replaced.

     See SUSPENSION - FRONT .

   • Outer constant velocity joint is supplied with ABS wheel speed sensor rotor as replacement part.
2. Screw and washer assembly, 10 Nm 
3. Bracket 
   • Insert ABS wheel speed sensor wire in bracket with rubber grommet.
4. Collar screw 
5. Double clamp 
   • Always replace.
   • Before installing, coat hole in wheel bearing housing with brake cylinder paste G 000 650.
   • Push into wheel bearing housing up to stop.
6. Sealing cuff 
7. ABS wheel speed sensor 
   • Always replace, see ABS WHEEL SPEED SENSOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING
