Engine Control Module (ECM), coding: Notes

NOTE:

If the appropriate code for the vehicle is not displayed or if the control module has been replaced, the control module must be coded.
During control module identification a 5 -digit code must always be displayed.
Incorrect coding may lead to higher emissions and increased strain on the automatic transmission resulting from harsh shifting jolts.

Connect Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 or V.A.G 1551 Scan Tool and select engine electronics control unit with "Address word" 01. See VEHICLE DIAGNOSTIC, TESTING AND INFORMATION SYSTEM VAS 5051, CONNECTING AND SELECTING ENGINE CONTROL MODULE or V.A.G 1551 SCAN TOOL, CONNECTING AND SELECTING ENGINE CONTROL MODULE . For this purpose, ignition must be switched on.
