Code Control Module (function 07): Notes

Vehicles manufactured from January 1999 onward must be equipped with ABS control module (w/EDL) -J104-, Part No. 8D0 907 389 A/D/E. These control units are codable. New control modules supplied as replacement parts are uncoded and must be coded after installation.

Control modules with Part No. 4B0 907 389 cannot be coded.

The coding of the ESP control module serves to adapt the control module to the vehicle.

Coding is only possible after the workshop code (WSC) has been entered into VAG 1551 scan tool.

NOTE: If the control module is coded with the coding 00000 or a code number that is not correct for the vehicle, the ABS warning light -K47- and the ESP control lamp -K155- will come on continuously and the DTC01044 (control module incorrectly coded) will be stored in the DTC memory of the control module.
