Test sequence: Notes
- Connect VAS 5051 Vehicle Diagnosis, Measurement and Information System. See VAS 5051 VEHICLE DIAGNOSIS, MEASUREMENT AND INFORMATION SYSTEM, CONNECTING AND SELECTING FUNCTIONS and select vehicle system "02 Transmission Electronics". Ignition must be switched on.
Display on VAS 5051
- Touch -1- diagnostic function "03 Diagnostic Test Mode".
- Touch --> button.
Display on VAS 5051:
- First actuator being tested
- Back-up light signal
- The Park/Neutral position relay -J226- turns the back-up lights ON and OFF at intervals for about 1 minute unless a switch has been made to the next actuator by pressing the --> button.
If the back-up lights do not illuminate:
- Check Park/Neutral position relay -J226- and wiring using wiring diagram.
NOTE:
Any electrical malfunctions are saved in the DTC memory. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) TABLE .
- Touch --> button.
Display on VAS 5051:
- A - Second actuator being tested
- 2 - Shift lock solenoid -N110-
- The shift lock solenoid -N110- is triggered at intervals for about 1 minute (clicks) unless actuator diagnosis is terminated by touching the --> button.
NOTE:
In addition, the brake symbol on the shift mechanism cover must illuminate at intervals.
If the solenoid is not triggered:
- Perform ELECTRICAL TESTING .
NOTE:
Any electrical malfunctions are saved in the DTC memory. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) TABLE .
- Touch --> button.
Display on VAS 5051:
- A - Actuator test is concluded
- End function "03 Diagnostic Test Mode" by touching <-- button.
