DTC table
- Observe test conditions, see TEST CONDITIONS .
- Connect VAS5051 tester or VAG1551 scan tool and select the address word 03 "Brake Electronics". See VAG1551 SCAN TOOL (ST), CONNECTING AND ENTERING ADDRESS WORD .
- Check the control module version. See CONTROL MODULE VERSIONS (SCAN TOOL FUNCTION 01), CHECKING and press --> button.
- Press buttons -0- and -2- to select "Check DTC Memory" function 02. Press -Q- button to confirm input.
- Every malfunction that the system can detect has a 5-digit Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC), which is listed in the left-hand column of the DTC table. If the printer is switched on by pressing the "PRINT" button, the VAG1551 scan tool (ST) prints out a message identifying the malfunction and the DTC. Otherwise, DTCs are not displayed by the VAG1551 scan tool.
- The contents of the DTC memory remain stored until the memory is erased. See ERASE DTC MEMORY .
- Sporadic malfunctions (see ON BOARD DIAGNOSTIC (OBD) ) are identified by "ISP" appearing on the right-hand side of the display.
- Static malfunctions that cannot be detected when the vehicle is stationary are also identified with "ISP" if the ignition has been switched off and then on again.
- The following DTC table includes all the DTCs that can be stored by the ABS Control Module (w/EDL) -J104- and displayed and printed out by the VAS5051 tester or VAG1551 scan tool. Malfunctions are listed according to the DTC number.
