Retrieving Diagnostic Trouble Codes: Notes

NOTE: Check engine timing and fuel pump relay fuses in fuse box. Ensure battery voltage is 12.7 volts or more. Ground connections at engine and transmission are okay. See ENGINE PERFORMANCE in SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article in ELECTRICAL.
NOTE: If no DTCs were stored in memory, do not unnecessarily erase DTCs. If DTCs are erased, readiness code must be re-generated. See READINESS CODE . DTCs will not be erased if ignition was switched off during procedure, or a static malfunction was not repaired.
