Instrument cluster, removing and installing: Notes

NOTE:

Do not disassemble the instrument cluster.
It is not necessary to remove the steering wheel. The steering wheel is shown removed in the following illustrations for clarity only.
Before removing the instrument cluster, check DTC memory. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) MEMORY, CHECKING (SCAN TOOL FUNCTION 02) .
It is also necessary to note and write down the values for the Service Reminder Indicator and the odometer display using the VAG 1551 scan tool. See ADAPTATION (SCAN TOOL FUNCTION 10) .
