Coding Remote Control Keys
NOTE:
Every new non-coded remote control key MUST BE coded for the central locking control module. A maximum of 4 remote control keys may be coded. Ignition must be turned off between each coding procedure.
- Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, check display group 007 to see how many keys have been programmed. See FUNCTION MODE 08: READING MEASURED VALUE BLOCK
under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM for displaying value block information. Field 3 of display group 007 (1100 = 2 remote transmitters) shows how many keys are programed and in which positions. See Fig 1
. In this illustration, a key has been programmed in position 1 and 2. The number one indicates a key has been programmed in that position, and the number zero indicates an open position for programming a new key.NOTE: New keys MUST be programmed in an open position, or key previously programmed in that position will no longer operate central locking system.
- Lock vehicle from outside with key to be programmed. Press OPEN on scan tool, within 5 seconds, until open position for programming is reached. In this illustration OPEN must be pressed 3 times within 5 seconds. Each time a button is pressed, emergency flashers will light. Wait 5 seconds.
- Press OPEN again, vehicle will unlock. Check display group 007 to ensure a one is displayed in appropriate position. Turn ignition off.
