Ignition Control: Notes

Ignition system is distributorless (EI). Since there are no moving parts, no vibration is generated to interfere with knock sensor system. The system is easier to maintain, as no routine adjustments are necessary. The ignition part of the SFI system consists of:

• Power output stage.
• Three double-ended ignition coils.
• PCM.
