EGR Temperature (EGRT) Sensor

  1. Disconnect EGRT sensor connector. See ELECTRICAL COMPONENT LOCATIONS  . Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between EGRT sensor connector terminals. If 4.5-5.0 volts is not present, repair faulty wiring or replace PCM as necessary.
  2. If 4.5-5.0 volts is present, turn ignition off. Remove EGRT sensor. Set ohmmeter to 200,000-ohm scale. Place EGRT sensor in boiling water. Measure resistance across EGRT sensor terminals. If resistance changes, EGRT sensor is okay. If resistance does not change, replace EGRT sensor.
