Fuel Consumption Signal (Cis-E)

  1. Ensure air flow sensor is correctly adjusted. see ENGINE SENSORS & SWITCHES (CIS-E MOTRONIC) in the I - SYS/COMP TEST article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE section.
  2. Connect (Black) 10 terminal connector to Adapter (1594/17). Connect voltmeter between terminal No. 5 and ground. Start engine and run at 1000-4000 RPM. Voltage should vary 0.3-0.8 volts with RPM. Drive vehicle and measure voltage during deceleration. If not, zero volts. Repair open circuit between fuel injection computer and on-board computer.
