5000S & 5000CS Turbo

  1. Item Being Tested - Left Front Solenoid Valve Place ABS tester in program switch position No. 6. Turn ignition off. Connect anti-lock brake system tester to ABS control unit. Remove anti-lock power supply relay from ABS tester and install relay in auxiliary relay panel.
  2. Turn ignition on and press button No. 8. Left front solenoid valve internal resistance should be .7-1.7 ohms. If reading is correct, go to step 5). If reading is incorrect, turn ignition off and remove plug connector from hydraulic modulator.
  3. Use ohmmeter to measure resistance between terminals No. 3 and 12 in socket on hydraulic modulator. If reading is not .7-1.7 ohms, replace hydraulic modulator. If reading is correct, go to next step.
  4. Use ohmmeter to check continuity between terminal No. 3 in plug for hydraulic modulator and terminal No. 2 in plug for ABS control unit. If there is no continuity, repair wiring harness to restore continuity.
  5. Item Being Tested - Right Front Solenoid Valve Press button No. 9. Right front solenoid valve internal resistance should be .7-1.7 ohms. If reading is correct, go to step 8). If reading is incorrect, turn ignition off and remove plug connector from hydraulic modulator.
  6. Use ohmmeter to measure resistance between terminals No. 5 and 12 in socket on hydraulic modulator. If reading is not .7-1.7 ohms, replace hydraulic modulator. If reading is correct, go to next step.
  7. Use ohmmeter to check continuity between terminal No. 5 in plug for hydraulic modulator and terminal No. 35 in plug for ABS control unit. If there is no continuity, repair wiring harness to restore continuity.
  8. Item Being Tested - Right Rear Solenoid Valve Press button No. 12. Right rear solenoid valve internal resistance should be .7-1.7 ohms. If reading is correct, go to step 11). If reading is incorrect, turn ignition off and remove plug connector from hydraulic modulator.
  9. Use ohmmeter to measure resistance between terminals No. 7 and 12 in socket on hydraulic modulator. If reading is not .7-1.7 ohms, replace hydraulic modulator. If reading is correct, go to next step.
  10. Use ohmmeter to check continuity between terminal No. 7 in plug for hydraulic modulator and terminal No. 19 in plug for ABS control unit. If there is no continuity, repair wiring harness to restore continuity.
  11. Item Being Tested - Left Rear Solenoid Valve Press button No. 11. Left rear solenoid valve internal resistance should be .7-1.7 ohms. If reading is correct, TEST 6 is completed. If reading is incorrect, turn ignition off and remove plug connector from hydraulic modulator.
  12. Use ohmmeter to measure resistance between terminals No. 5 and 12 in socket on hydraulic modulator. If reading is not .7-1.7 ohms, replace hydraulic modulator. If reading is correct, go to next step.
  13. Use ohmmeter to check continuity between terminal No. 5 in plug for hydraulic modulator and terminal No. 18 in plug for ABS control unit. If there is no continuity, repair wiring harness to restore continuity.
