Fuel Injection System - BOSCH Cis-E (Turbo): Description

The CIS-E fuel injection system is mechanically and electronically controlled. It uses the basic CIS mechanical system for injection, with electronically controlled correction functions.

The mechanical portion of the CIS-E system consists of a mixture control unit (air-flow sensor and fuel distributor), control pressure regulator, differential pressure regulator, cold start valve, throttle body, injector nozzles, fuel pump and filter.

The CIS-E system will still provide adequate operation during electronic control unit (ECU) malfunction. The system also has over-voltage protection for the electronic components.

The electronic portion of the system consists of an airflow sensor position indicator, electromagnetic control valve, thermo time switch, coolant temperature sensor, electronic control unit (ECU), transistorized ignition switching unit, microswitch, throttle valve switch, altitude correction indicator, lambda control and oxygen sensor.
