System Pressure

  1. Hook up Pressure Gauge (VW 1318) to fuel distributor lower chamber at plug. Connect other hose to cold start valve fuel line at cold start valve. Disconnect plug to differential pressure regulator. Bridge fuel pump relay at socket terminals 30 and 87 or use Jumper (US 4480/3).
  2. System pressure should be 73.96-79.77 psi (5.2-5.6 kg/cm2 ). System pressure is not adjustable. If system pressure is low, check fuel pump delivery rate. If pressure is too high, either a restricted return line or the diaphragm pressure regulator is at fault.
