Riding Height
- Riding height should be checked with vehicle unloaded on a flat surface. Tires must be correctly inflated and fuel tank full.
- Front riding height is measured by subtracting the height of the front sidemember from the front wheel center height. Rear riding height is measured by subtracting the height of the rear suspension arm bearing bolt face from the rear wheel center height. See Fig 1.
- Front riding height is 3.25 +/- .40" (83 +/- 10 mm). Rear riding height is 1.50 +/- .40" (39 +/- 10 mm). Difference in riding height between the right and left sides must not exceed .40" (10 mm).
- Only the rear riding height is adjustable by changing the torsion bar setting. For adjustment procedure, see AMERICAN MOTORS - ALLIANCE & GTA article in the REAR SUSPENSION section.
