Knock Sensor

The knock sensor is located in the cylinder head. This sensor provides an input to the ECU that indicates detonation (knock) during engine operation. When detonation (knock) occurs, the ECU retards the ignition advance to eliminate the detonation (knock) at the applicable cylinder.
